dessert.

sometimes i forget that not every post has to be soul-searching and introspective, and i should write even if it’s not deep.
last week, i made a marshmallowy-gooey juicy-peachy dessert using christine’s recipe.

Looks delicious! I’m impressed it lasted long enough for pictures. And yes, ripe peaches are key but I can never wait for them to ripen. It’s still yummy, even with slightly crunchy peaches. Can’t wait to see the strawberry version.

    • luckily, they were past the crunch stage, they just weren’t incredibly juicy yet. i wonder how this dessert would be with nectarines? i usually prefer nectarines over peaches… mmmm.

  2. Love the picture of the cat smelling the peach!

she ALWAYS wants to know what i’m doing in the kitchen. she comes in there and stands beside me and makes pitiful little crying sounds if i don’t let her smell something!

My cats never care what I’m doing in the kitchen (I guess being a vegetarian doesn’t help with that) but they do like random smells. Your kitty must be extra scent-motivated. Cute!

      • Aw! Pippin always wants to smell what I’m eating. (Not eat it or lick it, just smell it.)

i’m glad you found me! i feel like i’m in cincinnati pretty frequently, or driving through to get to ikea. i’m also an instagrammer (vanessafromky), lover of stripes, and fearless about mixing silver and gold. i think we’re going to get along swell. :D

Yum. This looks so delicious. I love peaches and any sort of crumbly dessert.

A super yummy gooey peach recipe I use can actually use unripe peaches (or over ripe peaches, basically sub par peaches) – you just cut them in half – and then mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, torn basil, and softened butter – then stuff the butter mixture into the depitted peaches and bake for 20 minutes – eat with ice cream!
